Release Notes: NBA Testing and New Context for NBA and AFL

NBA 26/27 is now available to a small group of selected users for testing. It brings the same analysis approach you know from AFL to NBA player props and same-game parlays, alongside new ways to see how a player's numbers change with the game context.

The biggest addition is uplift and downlift analysis for travel type, postseason games, and turnaround time. These context comparisons have also been added to AFL for existing members.

NBA testing is underway

The NBA version follows the same research workflow as AFL: look up a player, inspect their historical results, and compare the conditions around those games before making your own call on a prop or same-game parlay.

Access is currently limited to selected testers while testing continues ahead of the NBA 26/27 launch. This is a testing release, and NBA access is not yet open to everyone.

Uplift and downlift: what changes with the context?

A player's overall average is a starting point. The new comparisons show whether their historical stat average was higher or lower in a particular setting than in the comparison baseline. A higher average is an uplift; a lower average is a downlift.

You can see the difference alongside the games behind it. That helps you judge how much history supports a pattern before deciding how much weight to give it in your research.

Travel type

Going from a home game to an away game is a different schedule pattern from returning home or moving between away games. The travel comparisons let you explore how a player's historical averages differ across those situations. Where venue data is available, approximate distance between venues adds another layer of context.

Playoffs, play-in games, and AFL finals

NBA playoff and play-in performances can be compared with the same season's regular-season baseline. AFL members also have finals comparisons when researching an upcoming final. This makes it easier to see how a player's historical averages differ in postseason games.

Turnaround time

Turnaround comparisons look at the time between consecutive scheduled team games. You can examine how a player's averages differ across shorter and longer turnarounds, with the sample behind each comparison visible alongside the result.

These are historical comparisons, not automatic adjustments to a player prop or same-game parlay hit rate. Travel patterns and schedule intervals provide context; they do not measure an individual player's fatigue or recovery.
